Marie-Louise Velthuijzen
In 2015 I finished a bachelor of Industrial Design Engineering at Delft University of Technology after which I moved to the forests of Sweden to continue learning. In the 2 year master - Wood Oriented Furniture Design - my goal was learn how to make the things I sketched and designed, work with wood and combine my knowledge of industrial production processes with the integrity of sustainability.
MAVELDESIGN is: Open, inventive, curious.
I believe products - lights - furniture have to work well, feel good and look great simultaneously. I like to use materials and objects for what they are good for, but also try out their limits. I am not loyal to specific materials although I prefer natural ones (and wood has a special place). My designs are objects that range from experimentation to products with a focus on the context in which they are used.
